About Beware Reef
This series of granite pinnacles rising from the sea floor off Cape Conran lies at a meeting point of warmer currents from the north and cooler Bass Strait currents from the west, producing a unique mix of warm- and cool-water species; more than 350 species of plants and animals have been catalogued within the sanctuary to date.
Access — entry & exit
The access to Beware Reef is by boat, from the ocean ramp at Cape Conran, 18 kilometres east of the Marlo township.
Fishing
Not allowed — Fishing is prohibited — this site sits inside a marine protected area.
