About Mornington Pier

Ledges, boulders, seagrass-covered rock and silty mud create varied habitat around the pier, with heavy sponge growth on pylons and rocks. Marine life includes old wives, globefish, decorator crabs, seahorses, sea stars, squid, gurnards, giant Australian cuttlefish, whiting, moonlighters and dusky morwong.

Access — entry & exit

The best entry point is via a giant stride from the 3 metre high car park wall near the ladders. Alternatively, you can lower your dive gear onto the stone ledge of the small boat inlet.
